Located on the north west point of the last circular nodule of Cornwall, so to speak, we got to Pendeen by taking the B3306 out of St. Ives and heading towards Lands End. Just as you come into the village of Pendeen, there is a crossroads and you turn right and drive down to the coast. It is signposted but, strangely, only from the Lands End direction!

Built in 1900, the lighthouse is supposed to be one of West Cornwall's most popular tourist attractions, but there was nobody there when we visited in mid May. The surrounding area is dotted with the chimneys of dilapidated tin mines. Note the foghorns. The cottages are available for holiday rental apparently.
